Health Care Priorities

As our health system continues to grow, facility space is at a premium. Plans to refresh our medical center’s aging physical spaces include the construction of a new patient tower that will allow us to care for more patients and help meet medical needs as the region’s only academic health center.

Last year, Georgia Regent's Health System saw more than a half-million patient visits, and that number is expected to continue to grow. Our adult and children's hospitals have seen a number of renovations over the past years to help us keep pace with this growth, but we are fast approaching the limitations of our physical structure.

Currently, our health system includes:

• A 478-bed adult hospital
• A 154-bed children’s hospital
• A 13-county Level I regional trauma center
• The region’s largest dedicated cancer clinical and research center

Plans for our enterprise’s robust growth include the construction of a new patient tower that will increase the number of patient beds while providing advanced care in a patient- and family-centered environment.
