He and wife, Lee Woodruff, discovered how quickly life can change, and that families can survive and grow stronger together. You won’t want to miss this exciting event! The event will kick off with a celebration of the 2013 Alumni Award recipients, honoring the Distinguished Alumni from each of the five health sciences colleges, as well as the Augusta State Alumni Award winners. Dr. Ricardo Azziz will present each recipient with a medal to represent their honor.
While covering the war in Iraq, Bob Woodruff, then ABC’s newly appointed co-anchor, was hit by a roadside bomb that sent himself and the lives of those close to him, especially his wife, Lee, into a long journey of recovery. Based on their best-selling book, In An Instant, Bob and Lee discuss their inspiring story, sharing what they learned about each other that made their relationship and their family stronger, while discussing the issue of traumatic brain injury among returning Iraq war veterans, as well as the millions of Americans who live with this often invisible, but life-changing affliction.
